TecTecTec VPRO DLX Review
With the dawn of 2016, TecTecTec came out with a brand new model, the VPRODLX. It’s the new and improved version of its predecessor, the VPRO500. Counting on its predecessor’s victories and long-time reputation with the crowd, the DLX model has certainly appeased its golfing fans. But, there’s an exciting feature here and there that awards the DLX the spotlight of the year. Let’s find out what they are!
First off, the DLX rangefinder is fast-measuring. It’s focus and ability to find the flag is thanks to its Pin Sensor Technology. While this mightn’t be anything new to TecTecTec, the diopter adjustment is. You’ll always be guaranteed a clear view to match the strength of your eye. There’s no better way to get a crystal clear image than with a diopter.
The DLX is also slightly smaller, lighter, and more compact than its older sibling. It can even be worn on your wrist with a strap. Better yet, it’s completely waterproof! The shock-resistant armor on the golf rangefinder gives it a standing chance against impact.
This golf rangefinder nicely comes with the included CR2 battery, premium case, wrist strap, quick start guide, and cleaning cloth. Everything you need is thrown into this ridiculously affordable package. There’s no losing with the TecTecTec Deluxe!
- Compact and lightweight
- Available in Slope
- Instant readings
- Wearable
- High quality
- Inaccurate Readings
TecTecTec VPRO DLX Q&A
The VPRODLXS unit does measure slope adjustments. It only costs a little bit more than the tournament legal unit, but it’s worth if you need the adjusted measurements. The Slope DLX rangefinder came out late 2016. If you are interested in seeing more rangefinders with the slope feature you can head over here.
You can! The diopter adjustment allows for clear images according to your eye strength whether you’re peering through glasses or with the naked eye.
You can use it for hunting of various styles, however, TecTecTec doesn’t sell custom bow mounts for their rangefinders. You should also note that this unit relies on first target priority mode, so it will pick up the closest measurements versus past the brush and beyond.
Many golfers get inaccurate readings or hitting the flag when out on the green due to the shakes or other issues. A common trick of the trade is to aim at the base of the flag to get a better reading if you can’t get it from aiming at the prisms or the flag itself.
What are the Main Differences Between the DLX and the 500?
The DLX is completely waterproof, shock-proof, and has upgraded and higher quality optics.
How Long does the Battery Last?
Many reports have said that the battery does last the entire golfing season. However, you should purchase extra batteries for those just-in-case moments. It takes an affordable CR2 3V battery.
Can Slope Mode be Turned off on the VPRODLX Slope Unit?
Yes, it can. Just hit the mode button to turn this device into a tournament legal rangefinder.
Is the DLX Slope Model only Available in Black?
Currently this model is also available in the black and white finish. There is the new DLX 1K model which is available in silver and red and has a massive 1000 Yard Range!
Noteworthy Features:
- Multi-layer lens
- Diopter adjustment
- Pin Sensor Technology
- First Target Priority Mode
- Shock-resistant armor
Our Verdict on the VPRO DLX
The TecTecTec VPRODLX is a high quality golf rangefinder with the lowest cost possible. It’s definitely been beefed up to perform far beyond its peers in the same price range. There’s no debate this rangefinder has excellent value.
However, if you’re not necessarily concerned with having the latest and newest gadget TecTecTec has to offer, then go with the tried and true VPRO500. It’s every way a crowd-pleaser from price to performance!
In the same price range, the Breaking 80 IS500 is a pretty comparable rangefinder. It has IntelliScan, multi-layer coatings, and 3rd Generation PinSensor Software. However, it’s not waterproof like the DLX, and its quality materials could be questionable when put up against the TecTecTec unit. But, it does come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty!
There’s no question that the TecTecTec VPRO Deluxe rangefinder will make you proud. It’s the right price with high quality materials that promises an enjoyable round of golf. You’ve got nothing to lose, and it’s time to get your TecTecTec on!
