SkyCaddie LINX Watch Review
This SkyCaddie LINX Watch has over 35,000 pre-loaded courses from across the globe. It has intuitive automation features, dynamic maps of distances to the front, center, and back of the green, and TrueGround Layup target distances from start to finish.
With some impressive additional features and Bluetooth connectivity, you might want to leave this watch on off the course as well.
The watch is what you would expect if the Touch and the SkyCaddie Watch (now discontinued) were to mesh into one unit (minus the touch screen feature). It’s got all the full features you could want, all in the most versatile and convenient way to wear a GPS unit – as a watch.
The additional Bluetooth connection with your IOS smartphone and the 40 available target distances per hole are the winning features that put this watch at the top of the list.
With all its exciting and innovative features, there’s nowhere for it to go but up.

SkyCaddie LINX Watch Q&A:
Like the Touch, the LINX watch also has Bluetooth connectivity. It even goes a step further than the Touch GPS device with the use of Smart Notifications.
What are Smart Notifications? Well, I’m glad you asked. If you have an IOS smartphone, then it should be compatible with the LINX watch where you can notified of any calls, emails, and text messages that you might get while you’re on the green.
Of course, if you left your smartphone behind for a reason, say, you didn’t want to be disturbed during your sacred time of day on the course, then this feature might just be a little much.
On the other hand, you’ll always have the convenience and security of being reachable if you’re needed.
If you upgrade your membership plan, you can have up to 40 targets per hole. That’s plenty enough to cover all the hazards you’ll ever encounter while on one tee. That’s quite an impressive amount of distances available for one hole. But hey, better to have the feature than be without, right?
The LINX golf watch comes in two colors: black and white. The really nice thing about the LINX that the original Watch doesn’t have, is the option for the wristband and the bezel to be replaced. Hey, what’s to stop you from using a white wristband with the black watch?
Yes. The LINX wristband is adjustable so that it can be comfortable to wear for persons of all sizes. The wristband also features five holes across the width to enhance breathability for sweat evaporation, all while looking stylish and sharp.
SkyCaddie does recommend that you charge the LINX watch after every round. This is pretty sound advice since it only has an eight hour operating span. The full eight hours will last you just fine for one full round.
If you play at a fast rate, you might be able to squeeze two rounds out of the battery life, but just be prepared if it dies on you before you finish your second round.
Not sure what your pace of play is? Not a problem! The LINX has a feature that can time your round. You’ll know if you’re a tortoise or a hare by the end of the game. If “slow and steady wins the race” is your mantra, you’ll most likely want to give it a full charge after every round.
The LINX watch measures in at 0.7 x 2 x 2.8 inches, and it’s a little big for a GPS watch. Because of this, it can get caught on your long-sleeve shirt or the pocket of your pants.
The buttons on the side are very easy to push and can sometimes be accidentally depressed when swinging.

Our Verdict on the Skycaddie Lynx
To ping up the strokes, the LINX watch has a fair price tag for its performance. You get exactly what you pay for. Expect fitness features, smart notifications, and up to 40 targets per hole. Okay, you actually get a lot more for what you end up paying.
However, if you’ve heard of Bushnell, let us inform you that they also dabble in the golf market. They offer the ION2 and the Excel golf GPS watches. The best news about it is, you don’t have to pay for any membership fees or annual fees – ever!
But, if you want the extra perks that a membership can offer you, SkyCaddie has the advantage there!
